Pakistan Test-Fires Extended-Range Fatah-2 Hypersonic Missile, ISPR Says

Missile launching from the ground in a test, leaving a white smoke trail

The Pakistan Army test-fired the extended-range version of its Fatah-2 hypersonic ballistic missile on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, according to the military’s media wing, ISPR.

ISPR says the Fatah-2 ER has advanced navigation and avionics, and that its trajectory and manoeuvrability let it get past enemy missile defences. It did not disclose the missile’s range, though it said the added range extends the army’s reach to deep targets. We found no independent confirmation of these performance claims.

The launch was witnessed by the commander of the Army Rocket Force Command, senior officers, and scientists and engineers from the programme. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir congratulated the team.

It was the second Army Rocket Force Command test that month, following a test of an extended-range Fatah-4 ground-launched cruise missile days earlier.
