SOUTH WAZIRISTAN / ANGOOR ADDA — Tensions have spiked dramatically along the Pak-Afghan border following a tragic cross-border attack in the Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan, where unprovoked shelling from the Afghan Taliban resulted in civilian casualties and a swift, intense military response.
According to security sources and local reports, a mortar shell fired from across the border in Afghanistan struck a residential house in Angoor Adda. The sudden strike resulted in the martyrdom of one civilian on the spot, while five other family members sustained severe injuries. Emergency teams promptly evacuated the wounded to a nearby medical center for critical care.

In response to the targeting of civilian populated areas, the Pakistan Army launched an immediate, highly effective counter-offensive. Target-specific retaliatory fire struck border checkposts used by the Afghan Taliban forces to initiate the attack. The military response successfully destroyed multiple Taliban posts and strongholds across the border.
The border town of Angoor Adda and its surrounding regions remain under high tension. Security forces have intensified border surveillance and placed the entire border zone on high alert. While local residents express deep concern over the cross-border hostility, security personnel maintain strict measures to protect border areas and stabilize the situation.
